Live Darshan of Vishwanath through LED-screens

Varanasi: Owing to the restrictions in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, all the devotees will not get opportunity to offer prayer at Kashi Vishwanath temple during the holy month of Shrawan beginning from July 6.

For the convenience of those devotees, the temple administration in collaboration with the Varanasi Smart City Limited (VSCL) has geared up to install LED screens at different points in the city for live darshan of Baba Vishwanath in the holy Shrawan month.

Despite the restrictions there may be a possibility of large gathering of devotees for offering prayer to Lord Shiva. According to the chief executive officer of KVT and VSCL Gaurang Rathi, all necessary arrangements are being made to manage the crowd of devotees ensuring safety from the coronavirus.

In order to satisfy their religious sentiment, the LED screens are being arranged to watch the rituals being performed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Unipolar LED screens will be installed at Ravidas Gate in Lanka area and at Bhojubir to facilitate the devotees for live darshan.

During Shrawan month festivity, the devotees will have to queue up by maintaining social distancing. Marking has already been done for this purpose. Other precautionary measures like wearing mask and sanitising hands at entry point will be a must for those devotees who are allowed to offer prayer at the temple from outside the sanctum sanctorum. One cannot touch the Shivlinga, only have a glimpse through doors.
