WORKSHOP ON SCIENCE OF FOOTWEAR (SOFT-2020) CONCLUDES IN BHU
Varanasi: The two-day nation workshop on ‘science of footwear’ (SOFT-220) organized by the department of physical education, Banaras Hindu University, concluded on Sunday. The valedictory function was attended by Prof. BD Singh, former Rector of BHU and Prof. Gyan Prakash Singh.
Prof. Abhimanyu Singh, Head, Department of Physical Education, welcomed the participants. Dr. Binayak Kumar Dubey, Organising Secretary of the workshop gave detailed report about the workshop. In his report he informed that more than 92 participants from different parts of the country participated in this workshop. He further mentioned that through the rigorous practical and theoretical lectures, the participants must have developed their confidence and competencies regarding basics and mechanism of foot, footwear technology and importantly what things to be taken into consideration while selecting the shoes.
Earlier, the second day of the workshop started with the scientific session of Dr OP. Singh, of the department of Orthopedic, Institute of Medical Sciences on the Influence of Foot and Footwear Design on Human Performance. It was followed by another session taken by Dr. Sujit Kumar Basu on Basics and Selection of Footwear especially sports footwear. Dr. Shubhrendu Shekhar Pandey, Dept. of Orthopedic, IMS, in his session highlighted on foot deformities and its physiotherapy, and Mr. Taresh Dayal Sinha, Footwear Industry Expert in his deliberation thrown some light on the topic Sports Footwear Marketing.
