24 more COVID patients found

Varanasi: COVID-19 tally rose to 600 in the district with 24 more persons were tested positive on Saturday. The death of one more person increased the toll to 22.

According to the district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma, a 60-year-old infected woman of Dalmandi area died during treatment at the BHU hospital on Saturday. She was suffering from diabetes and respiratory problem. Out of 600 COVID patients 340 have recovered from illness. Presently, there are 238 active cases of COVID-19 in the district.

The number of hotspots also increased to 290 of which 158 are in active category. The samples of 242 persons were collected on Saturday for testing. The reports of 856 samples are awaited.
