82 Indians stranded in UK arrive Varanasi
Varanasi: As many as 82 persons including women and children stranded in UK after the outbreak of COVID-19 returned home by an Air India flight under Vande Bharat Mission that landed at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport on Monday.
The AI flight carrying 123 passengers on board landed the airport at 2 pm. While 82 passengers alighted here, other 41 passengers flew to Gaya by the same flight at 3.15 pm.
The ADM (protocol) Atul Kumar, director airport Akashdeep Mathur, regional tourism officer Kirtiman Srivastava and CISF commandant Subrat Jha, the chief medical officer Dr VB Singh were present at the airport to ensure that all protocols related to COVID-19 were being followed before the passengers sent to different hotel for a 14-day quarantine.
