One more COVID-19 death in Varanasi

Varanasi: The district recorded one more COVID-19 death on Thursday  increasing the toll to 14. Meanwhile 16 new coronavirus positive cases were also found in the district.

According to the chief medical officer Dr VB Singh, a 52-year-old man of Daanganj area, who was admitted to BHU hospital on Wednesday, died on Thursday. His test report confirmed that he was COVID-19 positive.

One more COVID-19 death in Varanasi

A total of 284 test reports were received from BHU laboratory in which 16 persons were found positive increasing the tally to 392 in the district. Of them 267 patients recovered, and 111 patients are still under treatment.

Six new localities including Rajvigali Naisadak, Mahavir Road, Jugultola Adampura, Naibajar Bhelupur, Naya Paandariba Chetganj and Ausanganj Jaitpura have become new hotspot areas.

The new infected persons include  a 40-year-old medical practitioner of Madhokunj Orderly Bazar a 56-year-old sales tax employee of Khojwa, a 39-year-old private medical practitioner, a 47-year-old jeweller of Jugultola Adampura, a 30-year-old man, an 8-month-old girl of Hukulganj, a 57-year-old woman, a 12-year-old boy, a 37-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman and a 7-year-old girl from the family of infected person of Bansphatak area, a 21-year-old employee at the shop of undertreatment patient from Ausanganj Jaitpura, Mumbai a 20-year-old woman of Naya Paandariba, a 35-year-old man, a 86-year-old woman and a 60-year-old woman from the family of infected person of Someshwarnagar Shivpur.
