Policeman commits suicide in Ghazipur

Ghazipur: A police constable committed suicide by hanging himself at his room in Shastri Nagar in Kotwali police station area. His body was found hanging on Saturday morning.

According to reports, the constable Ganesh Prasad Maurya (27), resident of Mirzapur district, was posted at Moradabad. He had come to Ghazipur on May 15 for clerical training. He lived at a rented house in Shastri Nagar locality.

Ghazipur SP Dr. Omprakash Singh, SP (city) Gopinath Soni and other police officials reached there after getting information. The body was sent for postmortem. The reason behind the incident was not known. The police are investigating the matter.
