Varanasi: A tweet announcing a march to Gyanvapi mosque costs dearly to a local youth, as he landed to jail on Tuesday for fanning hatred and breaching peace.
Vishal Pandey, resident of Gangotri Vihar colony in Lanka area on Monday announced in his tweet that he along with his 100 supporters would go to Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Gyanvapi mosque. He had also tagged his tweet to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Varanasi police.
The police swung into action after viewing his tweet and arrested him from his residence. According to Lanka inspector Bharat Bhushan, the youth was booked under sections 153a (promoting disharmony, enmity or feelings of hatred between different groups on the grounds of religion, race) and 151 (breaching peace) of IPC.
