Helpline 1076 becomes eyes and ears of CM Yogi

Lucknow: Amid the outbreak of corona virus the toll free helpline number 1076 is successful for which it was created. The Chief Minister helpline is contacting every gram pradhan and councilor to spread awareness about corona and take inputs from them. The CM office is getting in touch with village pradhans across the state to collect the information from anyone who might have come from outside. Besides it, the helpline 1076 is very instrumental to sort out the issues of common people during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Additional Chief Secretary Awanish Kumar Awasthi said that the government is using this to collect information from the ground. According him, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has contacted nearly 60,000 gram pradhans and 12,000 councilors and got information from them regarding people who have come from outside in the last two weeks so that checking and monitoring of suspects can be done and briefed about COVID symptoms and precautions to be taken.

Giving top priority to dissemination of correct information and grievance redressal related to COVID19, CM has attached two young IAS officer Satyendra Kumar, Special Secretary Basic Education, and Ramesh Ranjan, Joint MD Jal Nigam, with CM helpline 1076 on March 25. The team of CM helpline led by Alok Kumar is actively contacted a total of 36,001 gram pradhans out of 58,972 and 3637 councilors by the morning of March 26 and briefed about COVID symptoms and precautions to be taken.

CM Helpline 1076 is not only getting information and spreading awareness through very first unit of democracy i.e. gram panchayat but more than 20000 callers shared information about suspected and person suffering from illness, said ACS home.

Besides it, CM helpline is providing assistance to people who are stuck in total lockdown. For example, Guddu Singh of Varanasi had a food problem in Maharashtra, which was resolved by talking to the officials. Ration is also provided to Dharmendra, resident of Ramnagar. Similarly, Rinku, a native of Santakbir Nagar, is provided food and water in Delhi from where the complaint was received. There are many examples of such good work. Not only helpline number, the twitter handle of 1076 has become quite popular also, said ACS Home.  According to him, more than 6000 calls regarding ration supply.

The Health Department is also getting full support from the CM 1076. Continuous calls are being received on the helpline number of the health department as well. In such a situation, if anyone seems suspicious, he is being helped by providing his name, address to the surveillance team by communicating with them, said Principal Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad.

The prime object of this 24×7 helpline number to establish direct contact between people and Chief Minister’s office. The Yogi Adityanath government had launched this facility last year on July 4, 2019. the Chief Minister’s toll-free helpline to enable people from across the state to register their complaints. Notably, the 250-seater call centre for the helpline has the capacity to handle 80,000 inbound and 55,000 outbound calls on a daily basis.
