PM Modi talks to CM Yogi through video conferencing to take stock of situation

CM Yogi to give pension to 83 lakh beneficiaries

Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday spoke to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and sought information about the current situation in the state. During video conferencing, PM Modi asked to pay special attention to the old age and shelter homes of the state.

The CM issued directives to all the district magistrates and divisional commissioners to seriously monitor and maintain the old age and shelter homes. At the same time, the CM has appealed to the citizens to fully comply with the lockdown in the state.

Additional Chief Secretary Home Awnish Awasthi along with Principal Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad and ACS Revenue Renuka Kumar held press conference in Lok Bhawan regarding Corona virus cases.

ACS Home said that the CM would give a lump sum pension to all pension beneficiaries on Friday. The work of sending pension directly to the beneficiaries in their accounts will be done by the CM himself. He informed that pension will be given online in the accounts of 86, 71,781 pension beneficiaries of Social Welfare, Divyang and Women Welfare Department for which an amount of Rs 871 crore 46 lakh has been allocated.

Additional Chief Secretary Revenue Renuka Kumar said that a fund of Rs 1139 crore has been made available to all the districts on April 1 for relief and rescue work. Of this amount, Rs 750 crore will be provided to workers for their food, medicines and shelter. Apart from this, Rs 115 crore will be made available for community kitchen. An additional Rs 1 crore reserve has been kept for each district, which can be used for the purchase of medical equipment etc.

Additional Chief Secretary Revenue said that at present 72 counsellors have been deployed in the state. A total of 40,000 people are living in 1,050 shelter homes. She informed that the CM has instructed to release the number of control room. Common control room numbers 0522-22375151 and 1070 have already been publicized, while now a WhatsApp number 9454441036 has been released. Besides, the number 9454441045 has been issued for CSR and for those people who want to help.

121 cases reported so far, 17 have completely recovered: Principal Secretary Health

Principal Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad said that 121 cases have been reported so far in the state. Suspected Corona patients have been identified in 16 districts, while 59 districts are still free from Corona infection. So far, 17 people have recovered while two people of Basti and Meerut died, he said.

He further informed that discussions were held between the PM and the CM about the mask, old age and shelter homes, after which the CM has given necessary instructions in this regard. He said that positive results are being witnessed in the state on account of sincere efforts being put in by the public and employees and officials in the entire state. Only eight new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. The good thing is that there has been a decrease in the average rate of infection in the state. “We are making efforts to take samples from the industrial units where masks are being manufactured and give them certificates so that they can sell the mask”, he said
