SSU to hold its 37th Convocation

Varanasi: The 37th convocation of Sampurnanad Sanskrit University is going to be held on Thursday. As many as 57 gold medals would be awarded to  32 meritorious students on the occasion.

According to the vice-chancellor Prof Rajaram Shukla, the convocation would be attended by the UP Governor Anandiben Patel and UGC vice-chairman Prof Bhushan Patwardhan.  

He said that the degree of Mahamahopadhyaya would be conferred upon Swami Sharnanadji, while the founder of Sanskrit Bharati Padma Shri Chamukrishna Shastri would be awarded D Lit.

As many as 22,726 graduates including girls (52.85%) and boys (47.15%) would be awarded degrees; he said adding that 49 boys and eight girls would be awarded gold medals. Besides, 26 research scholars would also be awarded degrees on the occasion.
