“May All Beings Everywhere Be Happy”: Banaras writes it 11551 times
An initiative by Dr. Jagadeesh Pillai for World Peace
Varanasi: Since ancient times, after every ritual in India, a prayer “Lokaha Samastaha Sukhino Bhavantu” (May All Beings Everywhere Be Happy) has been chanted for the world peace.
At the time of COVID-19 pandemic, being in lockdown, following the same culture of India, 56 people of different families of Banaras have written the same prayer for 11551 times. This was the concept and initiative done by Dr. Jagadeesh Pillai, who holds four times Guinness World Record entry.
One week was given to various families of Varanasi and asked them to write minimum 100 times and send through WhatsApp. “It was planned for a total 5001 times. But few people have written more than 500 to 1000 alone. From small children to youngsters participated in it,” said Pillai.
Shreya Garg of Visual Arts, BHU alone has written 1121 times, while Komal Singh scored 1012 and Poonam Rai 1001. A song video of the prayer “Lokaha Samsataha Sukhino Bhavantu” has also been also created which was sung by Dr. Pillai himself. All the people who has participated in writing have been shown in the video.
Dr. Pillai is already engaged in to reinstate such lost culture of India. Recently he has sent an information from Vedas to the Prime Minister which may be useful to fight with Corona.
